This message comes with heartfelt wishes to you for a Healthy and Happy 2007! A brief description of 2006 ASTDN Accomplishments: President's Goals: to expand work with national partners and to establish an Executive Office for ASTDN. Contractors are assisting us in this effort to date. CDC Grant Funding to ASTDN has grown to over $600,000! (Thanks to Pat Drehobl) Linda Olson Keller has completed grant Stage 1 "to enhance the capacity of public health nursing to achieve public health's mission..." (see Linda's report "Enhancing the Capacity of Public Health Nursing through Partnerships" on this website) Joy Reed and Karen O'Brien participated in the QUAD Council event in Boston on a panel discussing the revised Scope and Standards of PHN. ASTDN Mid Year meeting at APHA in Boston at an historical restaurant overlooking Boston Harbor with record attendance of 30 active, alumni, and associate members (CDC, ACHNE, HRSA, ANA). Lillian Mood made a surprise visit to thank us for her ASTDN award. Read more in minutes to be posted in January. Members are attending national meetings representing ASTDN/PHN and PH issues. DC Cooperative Grant funding, ANA, and ASTHO have provided the travel costs. Committees have been very active.
